We are seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our fast-paced and hard-working team. This position plays a critical role in the shipping and receiving operations of our bakery, ensuring that products are safely and accurately prepared for distribution. You'll be responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments and maintaining inventory in accordance with food safety standards. Job tasks may vary daily based on production flow and logistical needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Load and unload trailers using a hand truck, forklift, or electric pallet jack
• Pick and stack products on pallets for outbound shipments
• Receive and properly store inbound ingredients and packaging materials
• Accurately rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices
• Lift items weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with GMP and SQF Food Safety standards
• Follow all safety procedures and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Accurately complete shipping/receiving documentation as required
• Perform related duties as assigned to support the shipping team
Job Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks preferred (certification may be provided upon hire)
• Experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to lift and move heavy pallets (up to 2,500 lbs using pallet jack)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
• Must follow all GFB core values and food safety standards (SOPs, GMPs, PPE requirements)
• Reliable attendance is essential to meet production and shipping schedules
