Manager, ML Engineering

Description:

Manage and accelerate machine learning and analytics pipelines on GPUs within NVIDIA's RAPIDS group.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high‑performing team, shape product strategy, and drive the development of ML libraries and tools that deliver speed‑of‑light performance on single and multiple GPUs. You will partner with product, project management and external partners to build scalable solutions for the AI community and enterprise end‑users.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team while planning and executing projects that deliver high‑quality ML libraries.
  • Collaborate with product and partner teams to design and implement ML applications that benefit the GPU‑based ML ecosystem.
  • Define success and evaluation criteria, including reproducible workflows, datasets, and benchmarking for library development.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple teams and projects.

What We Need To See

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
  • 3+ years recruiting, training, and leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong written communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with the full ML lifecycle: research → training → tuning → deployment.
  • Strong analytical problem‑solving skills, algorithms, and fundamentals of mathematics.
  • Experience with distributed systems development and deployment.
  • Experience designing, developing, and benchmarking complex multi‑language software stacks (C++/CUDA and Python).
  • Experience working closely with partners and customers to build successful ML‑based tooling.

Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd

  • Collaborated with partners to develop effective ML tooling.
  • Proficient in vector search techniques and database management.
  • Contributed to and maintained open‑source software initiatives.
  • Developed distributed algorithms for high‑performance computing and cloud environments.
  • Familiar with PyData libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit‑Learn; GPU programming experience is a bonus.

Salary and Benefits
Base salary range: Level 3: $224,000 – $356,500; Level 4: $272,000 – $425,500.
Eligible for equity and benefits.
