About the Role

The Financial Analyst will provide finance support including planning/forecasting, variance analysis, product profitability, and reporting to Commercial Bank leaders and supporting teams. They will provide an objective financial perspective on performance and initiatives, and offer strategic input to improve operations. The position requires a strong work ethic, commitment to high-quality deliverables, and the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. May lead and train other financial analysts related to the functions listed above.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support executive/senior/middle management within the Commercial Bank with reporting, analysis, forecasting, budgeting and planning needs.
  • Identify reporting needs, provide in-depth analysis, and deliver financial and related reports to support strategic decision making.
  • Support capital stress testing, pricing committees, and Asset‑Liability Committee by producing and presenting financial results and analysis.
  • Communicate with committee members and others impacted by committee decisions.
  • Stay engaged with Commercial Bank management as strategic decisions are being made, communicating emerging finance‑related issues pertinent to the business.
  • Work on projects of diverse scope, highly varied and complex, requiring complex analysis and interpretation, exercising judgment within broadly defined procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and apply to designated responsibilities – knowledge gained through coursework and on‑the‑job training.
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete all required annual or job‑specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Actively learn, demonstrate, and foster the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
  • Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent experience, required.
  • 3 years of experience in an analytical role, required.
  • Skills in spreadsheet preparation, word processing, presentation, and database management and reporting software.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage tight schedules.
  • Developing analytical skills.
  • Effective team player.

Job Location

Ability to work fully onsite at posted location(s). Lake Oswego, OR.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $60,000.00 to $105,000.00. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation. Base wages and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401(k) with employer match, life and disability insurance, tuition assistance, mental health resources, identity theft protection, auto and home insurance, pet insurance, and paid vacation, sick days, volunteer days, and holidays. Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following the date of hire for associates who are regularly scheduled to work at least thirty hours weekly.
