Position Overview
The Data Analyst works cross‑functionally with stakeholders to develop, implement, and support enhanced data solutions and organizational initiatives. This role leverages analytical expertise and critical thinking to evaluate data management practices, recommend enhanced solutions, and continuously improve data quality and governance across the organization. The Data Analyst explores, investigates, and reports historical and current business data to provide actionable insights that support strategic goals and operational efficiency. Using advanced analytical techniques and data visualization tools, this role helps standardize data practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive decision‑making throughout the credit union.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to contribute to ongoing data governance and data strategy projects; provide subject matter expertise and consultative support across the organization.
- Serve as a liaison between data users and developers to define data needs, requirements, and delivery methods.
- Explore, investigate, and report on historical and current business data; create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using data visualization tools.
- Gather requirements, perform analysis, and generate business cases; translate business needs into technical specifications for data solutions.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to uncover trends and insights; use statistical methods and tools to provide in‑depth data analysis.
- Support data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, working with data engineering teams to ensure efficient data flow.
- Facilitate standardization of data practices across the organization to promote accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Assess and analyze data quality; identify dependencies and issues, recommend remediations, and drive continuous improvement.
- Continuously explore new data sources, tools, and methodologies to enhance analysis capabilities and recommend process enhancements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data solutions, including data definitions, business rules, data flow diagrams, and user guides.
Must‑Haves
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of five years of experience in process management, data analysis, data visualization, or business intelligence.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and regulatory compliance.Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Proficiency in SQL and other relevant analytics tools.
- Experience with data integration and ETL best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- This position is a hybrid work model and includes on‑site and remote work.
- May travel to other locations within the branch network as needed.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience within a financial institution or credit union environment.
- Certification in data analytics or related field (e.g., Google Data Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI certification).
- Familiarity with modern data warehousing or cloud‑based data platforms.
