IT OT Data & Analytics Engineer – Genentech

Based in our Hillsboro, Oregon facility, you will play a key role in a highly automated pharmaceutical drug substance site. You will report to the local IT OT organization, supporting the digital transformation and providing data and tools that enable the Industry 4.0 evolution of the manufacturing plant.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Creatively and proactively design, develop, test, train and deploy reports and metrics.
  • Build secure, scalable, high‑performance data engineering and analytics solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS or Snowflake.
  • Solve challenging data‑integration problems for diverse data sets, writing efficient ETL pipelines.
  • Design and develop data pipelines and cloud infrastructure to support machine‑learning systems at scale.
  • Validate GMP‑relevant reports, advise on report design, and continuously monitor report effectiveness and usage.
  • Provide application support for deployed data products and own system validation of data products.
  • Create and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for local source data.
  • Collaborate regionally and globally to support digital initiatives across the site and network.
  • Lead digital initiatives with data‑engineering best practices (sustainability, documentation, etc.).
  • Handle user support and incident prioritization to deliver timely solutions.
  • Maintain expert networks to support and develop regional key‑user communities.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or business administration, or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience building user‑centric reporting and data processing in a GMP/CSV regulated environment, with at least 2 years managing local and global projects.
  • Good knowledge of GxP, especially Computerized System Validation (CSV) and reporting/statistical environments.
  • Experience with gSuite software, business analysis, version control (GitHub/GitLab), CI/CD, data‑transformation tools (dbt) and data‑storage tools (AWS, Snowflake).
  • Passionate about consulting, implementation, and support, preferably in a life‑sciences setting.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate clearly.

Compensation

Salary range: $113,100.00 – $210,000.00 annual. Final pay is determined by experience, qualifications and location, in compliance with applicable law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available.
