Minimum Qualifications

  • customer service experience
  • ability to handle stressful situations
  • effective communication skills
  • knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Desired Skills and Responsibilities

  • prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
  • greet, engage, and assist customers
  • process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • adhere to cash shortage and overage limits, and control loss honestly and effectively
  • follow guidelines on restricted sale items (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, DVDs)
  • report pricing discrepancies and follow procedures for stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • stay current with ads and promotions, and maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff
  • adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies
  • identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to store management
  • practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department
  • provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed
  • perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
