POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Material Handler is responsible for overseeing daily yard and warehouse operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards are met. This role includes leadership responsibilities and supports training and operational oversight. The Lead Material Handler will operate forklifts, manage inventory, and maintain a clean and organized yard environment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday and no weekends

Pay: $27-$32 an hour, depending on experience

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead daily yard and warehouse operations to ensure safety and efficiency

• Support training of yard associates and promote safe work habits

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers

• Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner

• Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, and packing of materials

• Read work orders and determine work assignments or material or equipment needs

• Transport products to storage areas using proper equipment and efficiently stack and store product

• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets

• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items

• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected

• Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use

• Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment

• Provide excellent customer service

• Must be able to work overtime as required

• Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of Lead or a supervisor experience required
• Be able to use tools and read a measuring tape.
• Experience with loading and unloading is a plus!
