The Opportunity
We're seeking an Environmental Consultant / Project Manager to join our growing team. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to projects across Oregon and Washington, providing technical expertise and project oversight in environmental consulting, site assessments, and remediation.
You'll take ownership of projects from start to finish—drafting proposals, managing subconsultants, conducting technical work, and ensuring client satisfaction. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands‑on technical work and client relationship management within a supportive, flexible small‑firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Consulting (≈75%)
Prepare technical reports and deliverables including:
- Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Hazardous materials surveys
- Contaminated Media Management Plans (CMMPs)
- Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs), Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), and closure reports
Conduct and oversee field sampling, data analysis, and reporting
- Manage projects of varying complexity from proposal through close‑out (budgeting, invoicing)
- Manage and coordinate subconsultants and field staff
- Develop supporting materials such as figures, tables, and maps
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to achieve project goals
- Support contract development and negotiations for clients and subcontractors
Marketing & Business Development (≈25%)
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and client leads
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Support proposal development and other marketing activities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in geology, environmental engineering, or a related field)
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, including demonstrated experience preparing Phase I ESAs or equivalent technical reports
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Geology or engineering degree
- EIT or GIT certification
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
