Position:
Machine Shop Inspector - Level 3
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $30 - $35/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Day Shift | Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM | Friday 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Who We Are:
We are a manufacturer of precision machined components specializing in close tolerance parts, assemblies, prototyping, and production runs. We are expanding to a second location in Clackamas, Oregon and looking to add skilled team members who want to advance their manufacturing careers by collaborating with a diverse and talented group.
What You'll Do:

  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials; document and communicate inspection results.
  • Prepare First Part and In-Process Inspection reports using precision handheld measurement tools, CMM, gauges, etc.
  • Review customer acceptance criteria to ensure proper inspection methods and identify/document drawing or specification errors.
  • Respond to customer requests and inquiries related to product quality.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to prevent non-conforming products and improve processes.
  • Create nonconformance reports and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure accountability for ISO 9001:2015 quality system and standards; train new employees on ISO 9001:2015.
  • Set up and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), develop improvement plans, and review with management.
  • Operate CMM and Faro Laser Tracker.

    What You Need to Have: The Musts:
  • Extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment
  • Strong understanding of machining and machining processes
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience running CMM with basic programming skills
  • Good judgment and ability to make independent decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn and use company ERP systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems preferred
Preferred:
  • Associate's degree in business, quality control, or related field OR
  • Five years of experience as a quality inspector or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to traverse the production facility for inspections
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
