Position overview:

  • Provides exceptional support and service to members through credit union digital channels, including chat, email, voice, and text (SMS).
  • Responds to member service requests including processing transactions, account maintenance, general inquiries, and problem resolution.
  • Utilizes strong knowledge of credit union processes, policies and procedures to take ownership of member interactions and resolve issues through research and collaboration with other teams.
  • Builds member relationships by identifying needs, offering tailored solutions, and educating members about Rivermark's products, services, and self-service options.
  • Educates members on self-service options and financial literacy, empowering them to manage their accounts and make informed financial decisions.
  • Adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and prevent fraud. Accurately documents member interactions and transactions for future reference and knowledge base updates.
  • Engages in ongoing training and development to maintain a high level of competency. Contributes to peer training and supports process improvements to enhance overall service quality.
Must-haves:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year of financial institution or retail sales experience required.
  • Ability to interact with members through various digital platforms, including chat, email, and SMS, while maintaining a professional and efficient approach.
  • Ability to learn and maintain thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, procedures and policies.
  • Strong reasoning and judgment skills to effectively resolve member issues, manage complex inquiries, and make sound decisions regarding account maintenance and other member requests.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, particularly Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel. Must be technologically savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software applications. Skilled in using the credit union's computer systems for member account management and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally in group and individual settings and develop positive internal working relationships.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply solid judgment, initiative, and tact in communications with members and coworkers.
  • Maintains high standards in areas of security, accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation, system input, and correspondence. Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong organization, planning and prioritization skills. Successful at balancing responsibilities to ensure completion by deadlines.
  • Flexibility to deal with unexpected events and occasionally attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • This position is a hybrid work model.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Financial institution experience preferred.
  • Spanish speaking skills a plus.
