Geologist (Flex Staff)

We are seeking a geologist to support federal projects with agencies such as EPA, USACE, and DOE. The geologist will independently conduct moderate to highly complex field investigations, oversee drilling operations, and collect geologic and environmental data. Ensure data quality and project compliance.

Job duties include: planning and conducting geologic and environmental investigations; conducting drilling and logging for moderate to highly complex projects; logging soil/rock cores and preparing boring logs per ASTM/USCS standards; collecting and managing environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory analysis; installing and maintaining groundwater monitoring wells/instrumentation; preparing technical field notes, logs, and support documentation; attending progress meetings; and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred qualifications include a PG (professional geologist) license, knowledge of the unified soil classification system for logging soils, 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper certification with 8-hour annual refresher training which is up to date, 8-hour supervisory training, 30-hour OSHA construction industry safety class, and current CPR/FA/AED certification.
