Position: Warehouse Associate

Assignment Type: Onsite

Location: Portland, OR

Schedule: 5 days per week (possible 6 days)

Shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm (end time may extend based on volume)

Pay: $ 18.00/hr

PPE Required: Steel-toed boots

We are hiring Warehouse Associates to support a high-volume, fast-paced transportation operation. This role plays a key part in ensuring freight moves quickly, accurately, and safely through the warehouse. You'll work alongside a knowledgeable and supportive management team that understands the demands of the logistics industry and is committed to helping you succeed.

What You'll Do (Daily Responsibilities)

As a Warehouse Associate, your day will include a variety of tasks that help keep freight flowing efficiently, such as:

  • Assisting with shipping and receiving: unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders

  • Reading and interpreting customer orders, work orders, requisitions, and shipping documents to determine required items

  • Ensuring the warehouse is organized, accessible, and safe for employees and customers

  • Following all safety policies and procedures while completing work efficiently

  • Assembling products and helping with inventory counts as needed

  • Taking check calls from drivers to ensure loads are on track and delivered on time

  • Verifying load data for accuracy and confirming deliveries for accounting purposes

  • Monitoring daily pickups and deliveries to ensure freight arrives in good condition and on time

What You'll Need to Excel

While not all are required, the following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:

  • Basic verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends depending on freight volume

  • Previous dock or warehouse experience, ideally in the transportation industry

  • Experience loading and unloading trailers

  • Familiarity with handheld scanners

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram instructions

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • Lift, push, or pull at least 75 pounds

  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently

Pay Details: $18.00 per hour
