Description:

Painter Position

We're looking for a talented painter who will be responsible for painting the interior and exterior areas of the property. This position is also responsible for ensuring apartments are painted and ready for move-in and assisting the maintenance team with service requests.

Schedule, monitor, and perform work orders, as needed, such as painting.

Wall repair and preparation, spackle.

Ability to identify appropriate materials for each surface to be painted.

Paint the interiors and exteriors of apartments according to company guidelines.

Perform property inspections to ensure the grounds are clean as well as to identify any problems.

Respond to on-call pager when scheduled and perform emergency maintenance to items that need to be repaired.

Ensure all work area supplies are neat, clean, and orderly after painting or when work orders have otherwise been completed.

Comply with all policies, practices, and applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Minimum of one year of previous painting and/or make-ready experience (or that of a similar function) is preferred.

Skills and requirements:

Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Ability to use paint sprayer, roller, brush, paint pad, etc.

Adhere to all OHSA guidelines.

Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, and key track system.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others.

Strong organization and time management skills.

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.

Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Must maintain a professional appearance and comply with the prescribed uniform policy.

May be required to possess a valid driver's license if required to drive.

Must comply with all safety requirements.

Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assigned.
