Housekeeper

The role of a Housekeeper involves managing the linen services in a hospital setting. This includes the collection and distribution of linens, ensuring they are delivered to the appropriate storage closets on each floor. The position requires meticulous tracking of linen inventories and data entry of delivery details.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and load dirty linens onto a truck for cleaning.
• Unload clean linens and store them in the linen department's storage room.
• Stock linen carts and deliver linens to hospital floors, maintaining par level in storage closets.
• Track and record the location, amount, and types of linen delivered at each point.
• Utilize an iPad for scanning bins during the process.
• Distribute linens to designated floors and stock closets up to the 9th floor.
• Work independently, requiring quick thinking and decision-making.

Essential Skills:

• Ability to stand for 8 hours during the shift.
• Personable and able to collaborate with other employees.
• Comfortable asking questions and seeking assistance when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with stocking, housekeeping, custodial tasks, and general labor.
• Familiarity with using an iPad for work-related tasks.

Work Environment:

Work hours are from 5am to 1:30pm, with rotations every other week for weekend shifts. The work takes place in the basement of the hospital, involving significant physical activity such as pushing, pulling, and walking throughout the facility.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
