Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Foster an atmosphere of trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products in the department and storewide.
• Develop a deep understanding of department products to make informed recommendations.
• Engage customers with product samples to help them discover new favorites.
• Inform customers about dairy specials and promotions.
• Fulfill customer orders with fresh products.
• Provide tailored recommendations to meet customer needs.
• Ensure product freshness by checking quality and reviewing 'sell by' dates.
• Label, stock, and manage inventory of merchandise effectively.
• Report any discrepancies in orders or shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and promote a supportive work environment.
• Stay informed about current and upcoming ads, specials, and seasonal promotions.
• Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain proper temperatures in display cases and coolers while keeping logs.
• Enhance safety by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions promptly.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
• Alert management of any accidents involving customers or employees.
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, or suspicious behavior immediately.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner.
• Act with integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
