Responsibilities

  • Manage all inquiries and referrals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate admissions with nursing, social services, and business office to ensure a smooth and compliant intake process.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, and community partners.
  • Ensure all admissions paperwork meets federal, state, and facility requirements.
  • Stay informed about Oregon Long‑term care regulations and payer requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, private pay, managed care) and reimbursement.
  • Compile and distribute admission papers, ensuring accuracy and entry into system.
  • Maintain relationships with legal and financial professionals, senior organizations, assisted living and senior housing facilities, appropriate special interest groups, churches and other community contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing coding.
  • Strategic planning and decision‑making ability.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow administrative team members with a diverse range of expertise.
  • Understanding of the basics of patient care.
  • Mission‑driven and service mindset.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2/3 years' experience in health care or long‑term care admissions.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or similar field preferred.
  • Experience in SNF/rehab admissions or health care business development with strong knowledge of payers (Medicare, managed care, Medicaid).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds at a time.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms frequently.
  • Required to stand, walk, talk, sit, and hear; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder height, reach below the waist, or lift as needed throughout the work day.
  • Proper lifting techniques are required.
