Objective: Under the direction of the Youth Development Coordinator, the Y-Time Lead is responsible for the supervision of Y-Time, Kids Night Out, including the day-to-day operations as well as the supervision and scheduling of staff schedules.

Job Responsibilities: The Y-Time Evening lead works with the Youth Coordinator and Morning Y time Lead to provide an enriching experience for the children at the YMCA. He or she works to assist in the implementation of a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children. The schedule requires availability to work evening hours (4:00pm-8:30pm) and Saturdays - specific hours could vary.

Job Specifics:

  • Engage with youth ages 1-12 years in a fun and safe environment
  • Create, implement and provide input on youth program curricula or a daily schedule plan
  • Create and manage programs for Kids Night Out in Daxko
  • Establish good rapport with parents and children
  • Keep accurate rosters and attendance records
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor, peers, parents and participants
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for children
  • Reliably work various hours Monday - Sunday
  • Commit to establishing long-term relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, members and families
Essential Functions:
  • Incorporate and Model our YMCA Christian principles into your work
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to relate and communicate well with children, parents and other staff.
  • Must have the physical and mental ability to teach a variety of athletic and enrichment programs and move equipment as necessary (approx. 25 lbs.)
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in the event of emergency situations
  • Observation and oversight of group participant activities
  • Enforce safety regulations and behavior correction according to YMCA standards when necessary
  • Work well in fast-paced environments
  • Establish harmonious relations with staff team, volunteers, participants/members, and local partners
  • Ability to lead groups of participants in activities
Requirements
  • Must pass YMCA background check
  • Completion of all job-related trainings within 30 days of hire
  • CPR/First Aid or ability to acquire within 30 days of employment
  • Prior work experience with youth and parents preferred
  • At least 18 years of age
