Overview

This is a hybrid role that is highly consultative and has regular meetings at a variety of Legacy locations across the Portland Metro area. On days that onsite activity is not scheduled, individuals in this role may work from remotely.

All new hires are required to come to a designated Legacy Health office location in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date for a new hire health assessment and to complete new employee orientation.

The Environment of Care Coordinator assists in the development, maintenance, and progression of Legacy's Environment of Care program. Under the direction of the Environment of Care Manager, the Environment of Care Coordinator will have responsibility for the organization of key components, projects, activities, functions and services within the seven components of Legacy's Environment of Care program with an emphasis on employee safety and emergency management.

Supports all aspects of the Environment of Care (EOC) through evaluating hazards, conducting site safety audits and inspections, managing site Emergency Management programs, and organizing and coordinating activities required to meet federal, state, and local requirements within the scope of Environment of Care. Assists in the development, implementation, training, and evaluation of comprehensive and integrated employee safety and emergency management programs.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required. Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Joint Commission Environment of Care regulations, and Joint Commission emergency management standards required.

OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification required or able to obtain within six months of hire. Will accept OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Trainer Card as substitute.

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred.

ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 required or able to obtain within six months of hire.

ICS-300 and ICS-400 in addition to the required FEMA independent study classes preferred.

Experience:

Minimum three years of experience in safety and/or emergency preparedness in healthcare or related field required. Experience in reading and interpreting regulatory requirements, regulations, and codes and experience participating in regulatory inspections required.

Skills:

Ability to multi-task and monitor projects from inception to completion.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance.

Knowledge of emergency management practices and regulatory compliance.

Proven ability to train.

Ability to analyze/problem solve.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.

Ability to work in multi-disciplinary environment.

Ability to analyze safety data, codes, federal and state laws, or administrative rules and to communicate the requirements.

Ability to gain cooperation of administration, managers, and staff in meeting identified needs.

Ability to keep current with technical developments and regulations.

Pay Range

USD $40.24 - USD $59.96 /Hr.
