Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our Boeing Portland (BP) - Supply Chain & Logistics team in Portland, OR. 2nd shift position: Monday through Friday and working hours are 2:30 pm till 11 pm. Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.)
The successful candidate is self-motivated driven person who can manage and integrate employees' activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation. Specifically in the delivery customer service role. You should be able to develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals. Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of team members and lead process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
The candidate selected for the 2nd shift position will be assigned responsibilities that include operations factory support, shipping/receiving, material handling, expedite, warehousing and serving as the Supply Chain contact for off shift customer support. This role principally leads a team of hourly, represented team members in the Supply Chain function.
Our team is currently hiring for a Level K Materials Management and Transportation Manager for 2nd shift.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages and integrates employee's activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manages, develops and motivates employees
- Possesses a mindset of safety and quality; influences the team to exhibit Boeing Values and Behaviors
Basic Qualifications (
Required Skills /
Experience): - 5+ years of experience of project management leadership experience and/or combinations of manufacturing/operations logistics, transportation and facilities operations
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
- 5+ years of experience leading, directing, or managing hourly and/or salaried personnel
- Must be willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.)

- Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree
- 5+ years of experience demonstrating exceptional business, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- 3+ years leading critical projects
- Experience with safety and quality processes
- Aerospace or manufacturing experience
- Self-motivated, works well independently
- 5+ years of experience in a role that involves strategic planning and risk identification
- Demonstrated ability to create shared vision and translate into strategy Implementation
- Demonstrated capacity to proactively and quickly makes sense of complex issues; responds effectively to complex and ambiguous situations; communicates complicated information simply
- Experience expediting products through a production system to meet emergent customer demand
