Job Overview
We are hiring for a Packaging Assistant position with a company that manufactures paper bags, including the type commonly found in grocery stores as well as other paper bag products. In this role, you will assist with the production process by loading materials into machines and packaging finished bags for shipment. This is a physically active position that requires attention to detail and the ability to work mandatory overtime when needed.
Pay Rate: $23.11 per hour
Overtime: Mandatory, up to 55 hours per week
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Load materials into bag-making machines to support continuous production
- Assist with monitoring machines to ensure proper bag production
- Remove completed paper bags from machines and pack them into boxes
- Prepare packaged products for shipment, including labeling and staging
- Lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
