Test Technician

As a Test Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products' performance, reliability, and compliance before they reach our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and optical testing on fiber optic and hybrid cable assemblies using specialized test equipment such as OTDR, power meters, and interferometers.
  • Interpret test specifications and procedures to validate product performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures or inconsistencies in cable assemblies.
  • Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records in accordance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve test processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as MIL-STD, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and internal quality protocols.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment as needed.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in testing cables, wiring, schematic, electrical, electronics, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment including multimeters.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cable testing, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment.
  • Proficiency with fiber optic test equipment and understanding of cable assembly schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • ITAR Compliant.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems is a plus.

Work Environment:

Work in a clean manufacturing environment dedicated to producing fiber optics for both government and private customers. You will wear a basic gown, similar to a lab coat, in a clean room type environment. Shifts are primarily from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with frequent overtime on Friday. Alternatively, a Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM schedule may be available depending on the department.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
