About the Role

MWH is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to support project work in Gresham, OR.

The Tunnel & Piping QC Inspector is responsible for performing quality inspections and documentation for tunneling and pipeline construction activities on public agency infrastructure projects. This role ensures work is performed in compliance with approved plans, specifications, quality requirements, and regulatory standards, and supports the project Quality Control program through proactive field inspections and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of tunneling and piping construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents and quality standards.
  • Inspect installation of pipe materials, joints, coatings, linings, supports, and appurtenances.
  • Monitor tunneling operations including excavation, ground support, lining installation, and restoration.
  • Verify compliance with approved means and methods, inspection and test plans, and quality procedures.
  • Document inspection results, test data, and non-conforming work; track corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, and Owner inspectors to resolve quality issues.
  • Verify materials, certifications, and test reports meet project and Owner requirements.
  • Support preparation of quality records, inspection logs, and as-built documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • 9+ years of experience in construction inspection or quality control for tunneling and pipeline projects.
  • Proven experience inspecting large diameter piping installations and tunnel-related work.
  • Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and inspection standards.
  • Familiarity with public agency construction and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in active construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with tunneling methods.
  • OSHA 30, Confined Space, and First Aid/CPR certifications.
Compensation:
  • Anticipated yearly salary for this role is $130,000 - $150,000 based on experience
