Position Overview

As an Advanced Water Damage Specialist, you will be at the forefront of drying and repairing residential and commercial properties following significant water damage. This role requires expertise in electronics, machinery management, specialized drying techniques, and HVAC integration. You will also be responsible for overseeing large loss scenarios, leading multiple teams, and assuming significant production responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Guide teams in the appropriate use of personal protective equipment for water damage projects.
  • Review daily project requirements, document progress, and communicate updates and challenges to management.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including photographic evidence, charts, and sketches for various projects.
  • Utilize your skills to draft sketches, read plans, and gather moisture content records to establish drying goals.
  • Calculate humidity loads, assess impacted areas, and solicit additional resources for extensive water loss situations.
  • Determine electrical needs for drying equipment and setup temporary power sources as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle safety and equipment, ensuring everything is clean and operational.
  • Focus on detail-oriented tasks while safeguarding the property of others according to BELFOR standards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer service principles in all interactions.
  • Work under time constraints to meet established deadlines and notify management accurately about hours worked and resources used.
  • Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training sessions as required.

Requirements

  • Supervise basic and intermediate water damage tasks and manage large loss sites.
  • Create detailed moisture maps using industry-standard tools and practices.
  • Oversee multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Identify appropriate disposal methods and secure releases of liability for disposed items.
  • Possess working knowledge of IICRC S500 and S520 standards.
  • Hold a current IICRC ASD certification and demonstrate proficiency in the use of various moisture detection tools and techniques.
  • Exhibit a strong grasp of air mover calculations, dehumidification charts, and electrical specifications.
  • Have eligibility to operate a motor vehicle as per BELFOR's policies.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency, maintain a professional demeanor, and possess a positive attitude along with a strong work ethic.
  • Fluency in the English language is essential.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly lift weights exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally assist in lifts up to 41 lbs and above.
  • Navigate tight spaces effectively.
  • Sustain various physical positions, including standing, sitting, walking, and bending.
  • Utilize mobile devices for data collection and time tracking.
