This national initiative is designed to engage youth through impactful educational experiences and skill-based programming, integrating environmental education, professional growth, and essential self-care. By providing clear pathways into conservation and green careers, we aim to shape the leaders of tomorrow.

As a Virtual Crew Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader in the success of the YCP. This role is perfect for organized individuals who are proactive and excel in program management, team guidance, and maintaining high standards in a virtual setting.

Position Overview:

Virtual Crew Supervisors will:

  • Implement and deliver an engaging environmental curriculum.
  • Lead virtual crews and facilitate structured projects and discussions.
  • Mentor youth in small group settings and serve as a reliable accountability partner.
  • Collaborate with fellow Crew Supervisors to ensure program excellence.

Work Environment & Location:

This is a fully remote position.

Program Dates (Tentative):

  • Mandatory Training: June 8 - June 19, 2026
  • Cohort 1: June 22 - July 10, 2026
  • Cohort 2: July 13 - July 31, 2026

Availability for the entire summer program is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a virtual crew in collaboration with other Crew Supervisors, maintaining engagement and progress.
  • Deliver structured, interactive environmental curriculum and project-based learning.
  • Facilitate discussions on environmental issues, conservation careers, and professional development topics.
  • Coordinating one-on-one mentoring sessions for youth on various projects.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with Program Coordinators, Assistants, and partner organizations.
  • Organize and host sessions with external speakers and partners.
  • Digitally track and store program materials according to established systems.
  • Model professionalism and accountability for youth participants.
  • Contribute to continuous program improvement by identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support program success.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years since high school graduation
  • Aged 21 or older
  • Entry-level suitable for those pursuing or having completed relevant education or training
  • 2-3 seasons of leadership experience with youth in educational or camp settings
  • Experience in environmental education and/or outdoor leadership is preferred
  • Strong comfort level working in virtual environments such as Zoom and Google Workspace
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and reliable, with the ability to manage schedules and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team
  • Dedicated to enhancing youth access to outdoor learning and conservation pathways
  • Experience developing educational materials is preferred
  • Previous experience in formal teaching or instructional roles is a plus
