Assets Protection teams are dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of our guests, team members, and brand. They safeguard our sales by addressing theft and fraud, ensuring products are ready for our guests.

As a Security Specialist at Target, you will benefit from:

• Skills in intelligence-led tactics to ensure safety.

• Experience in managing crises, safety protocols, and crowd control.

• De-escalation experience and skills in recovering stolen merchandise.

• Ability to utilize Target's video surveillance system.

• Experience in documenting cases effectively.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Welcoming and engaging with guests and team members at the store entrance.

• Leading a security culture to ensure safe experiences for all.

• Documenting and addressing security incidents accurately.

• Utilizing escalation tools to resolve guest issues effectively.

• Conducting merchandise recoveries and following AP procedures for apprehensions.

• Performing receipt checks to prevent theft at the front of the store.

• Documenting all incidents in accordance with AP policy.

• Using the video system appropriately in your role.

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and team members.

• Providing excellent service to enhance the guest shopping experience.

• Exhibiting a culture of safety and compliance.

• Identifying hazards and adhering to safety best practices.

• Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements.

The good news is that we provide excellent training to equip you for success as a Security Specialist. Here are some initial qualifications we prefer:

• At least 18 years of age.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Compliance with state or local licensing requirements for the role.

• A welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members.

• Ability to communicate using various devices and technology.

• Strong communication skills.

• Capability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Effective time management and prioritization skills.

• Ability to stay composed and focused in a fast-paced environment.

Additional expectations include:

• Climbing ladders as necessary.

• Conducting apprehensions in line with company policies.

• Handling and moving merchandise safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds.

• Flexibility in work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.

• Mobility throughout the duration of your shift.
