You'll oversee and supervise all functions and activities of the Drug GM department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while embracing our Customer 1st strategy. Responsibilities

  • Foster trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate vital company, department, and role-specific information to associates.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration to achieve store goals.
  • Set performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Manage scheduling to effectively accommodate customer volume during operating hours.
  • Train and develop associates, participating in the performance appraisal process.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with inquiries about products.
  • Gain and maintain product knowledge to provide informed recommendations.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers about Drug GM specials and promotions.
  • Develop and execute a business plan to achieve departmental goals.
  • Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
  • Collaborate with store management on sales promotions.
  • Educate department associates about ongoing and upcoming promotions.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques to the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Implement the promotional plan for the department.
  • Stay updated on current, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory conditions and report discrepancies.
  • Schedule and execute daily, weekly, and monthly price changes.
  • Organize and supervise inventory processes.
  • Train associates on inventory management and ordering systems.
  • Reinforce safety protocols and address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Report any customer or employee accidents to management.
  • Identify and report safety risks or illegal activities, including theft or fraud.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a reasonable, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Provide support to diverse individuals, including minors and those with special needs.
  • Perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Able to handle stressful situations effectively.

Desired:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Experience in Drug GM or retail.
  • Proficiency in a second language (speaking, reading, or writing) is a plus.
