If so, we invite you to consider this opportunity on our MSC and ECMO team as a Coordinator of Mechanical Circulatory Support programs.

Responsibilities

• The MCS (Mechanical Circulatory Support) non-clinical coordinator collaborates with the MCS manager, MCS non-clinical supervisor, ECMO medical director, Shock medical director, patient care director, ECMO clinical coordinators, department leadership and other members of the shock program for planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations to provide excellence in MCS and shock patient care.
• Exhibits strong administrative and program coordination skills, supporting the professional development activities and the overall functioning of the MCS Program.
• Supports program activities and daily operational workflows.
• Serves as a liaison between the hospitals, physicians, pre-hospital providers, administration and supports regional outreach strategies.
• Supports outreach and communication with referring facilities and community providers as part of program coordination.
• Assists Legacy Health facilities in meeting the requirements of shock specific regulatory bodies (i.e., the Joint Commission, the Oregon Health Authority, the American Heart Association, the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization, etc.).
• Collects and extracts shock patient data and patient registry information, which is reported to various organizations and used to implement process improvement within the program.
• Analyzes trends in patient and registry data and prepares summaries for leadership review and decision-making.
• Works with professional billing on authorization and appeals and reviews incoming invoices for accuracy.
• Supports documentation monitoring for billing and authorization workflows but does not perform detailed insurance review or appeals.
• Assists with aligning resources, equipment, and supplies as well as working with Supply Chain Management and the MCS leadership with vendor relationships and contracts.
• Coordinates routine communication with Supply Chain and vendors to support equipment and supply needs.
• Serves as a central coordination point for transplant- and shock-related communication across internal teams, external partners, referral facilities, and insurers.
• Demonstrates strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with physicians, administration and staff at all levels of the organization in a coordination-support capacity.
• Continues to support compliance and readiness activities related to all applicable shock-specific regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Relevant coursework in statistics or biostatistics, and physiology preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum three to five years of experience in healthcare coordination or program support role required.
• Knowledge of hospital regulatory guidelines, critical care billing practices, insurance authorization procedures, provider credentialing procedures, and electronic health records preferred.

Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize and monitor projects to ensure deadlines are met or revised appropriately.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a wide range of people.
• Ability to work independently and within groups; skilled in collaborative problem-solving.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and support multiple activities and departments at one time.
• Ability to deliver high-quality customer service.
• Demonstrated reliability in prior work experience.
• Familiarity with computer-based systems such as Microsoft Office, EPIC, web content management.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.

Licensure

• ELSO Registry Certification required within two months of hire.
