Summary: Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator will provide timely and accurate picking and loading of product to meet all customer orders. In this role, you will receive and unload all incoming product daily. This position will also be responsible for operating a forklift or reach truck.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing.
• Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
• Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and stock pickers, pick, pack and release orders.
• Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
• Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
• Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
• May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
• Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness.
• Wearing the proper safety equipment.
• Position(s) may require work in multiple areas as needed to support the business.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Education and Experience:

• At least three months related experience or training.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Individuals must be able to use proper techniques to lift 40 pounds.
