Production Helper

The Production Helper is responsible for material handling and machine operation. This includes packaging and labeling finished products, preparing products for shipping, and assisting with the setup and operation of automated production machinery. The role involves handling a weatherizing solution for large paper rolls used in construction, shop cleanup, and general shop assistance. Additionally, the operation of forklifts to move materials is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle materials and operate machinery.
  • Package and label finished products.
  • Prepare products for shipping.
  • Assist with setup and operation of automated production machinery.
  • Perform shop cleanup and provide general shop assistance.
  • Operate forklifts to move materials.

Essential Skills:

  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Experience with industrial machinery and warehouse distribution.

Work Environment:

The work environment is industrial manufacturing, requiring the use of heavy machinery. Employees must wear PPE, including safety shoes, hard hats, earplugs, and safety glasses. The work schedule rotates between three shifts every 8 weeks: Day (6:45AM 3:00PM), Swing (2:45PM 11:00PM), and Night (10:45PM 7:00AM), moving from Night to Swing to Day shifts.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $23.80 - $24.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
