Description:

Worksource Oregon is partnering with a nonprofit organization in Portland, Oregon whose mission is to provide justice system-impacted individuals and families the tools and support they need to be safe and thrive in our communities.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide peer support services to participants at the Center for Family Success, in the community, in correctional facilities and at community partners sites

  • Conduct wraparound case management services, including assessment, action planning, referral and resource navigation support, and use of basic needs assistance and incentives to support success

  • Deliver transition and reentry support services, including reach-ins and support the day of release

  • Teach, coach, and model positive parenting skills and other cognitive and social skills.

  • Reinforce positive behaviors and progress

  • Facilitate classes at TPN sites, in the community, in correctional facilities and at community partner sites using standardized curriculum and delivery model.

  • Substitute in classes and facilitate support groups. Plan, review, and prepare materials for facilitation of classes

  • Support parents' successful engagement with groups and other services at the Center for Family Success and the Resilience & Recovery Project.

  • Collaborate with and maintain communication with group facilitators/coaches, advocates, peers, and other staff working with parents to support their successful participation and completion of programming

  • Assist parents with developing and maintaining positive relationships with family members and other support persons

  • Transport participants, as necessary, in the community to appointments and/or services

  • Complete all required documentation and track participant attendance and participation

  • Participate in all mandatory training, observations and coaching, and work towards ongoing professional development goals

  • Act as a mandatory reporter of abuse, in compliance with Oregon law

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent

-Two years of related experience (work, volunteer, education, or other)

  • Meet the eligibility requirements to be a Certified Recovery Mentor, Peer Support Specialist or Traditional Health Worker and be certified within 1 year of employment

  • Valid driver's license and have access to a motor vehicle during work hours that is covered by adequate car insurance

  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check that meets the organization's underwriting criteria

  • Basic level computer capabilities in use of databases, web-based environments, word processing, email, and spreadsheets

PREFERENCES

  • Associate degree or higher

  • Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM), Peer Support Specialist (PSS), or Traditional Health Worker certification

  • Non-profit experience and/or experience with the criminal justice system and/or child welfare system

HOURS

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
