Cash Application Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this long-term contract position, you will focus on accurately processing cash applications, collaborating with internal teams, and maintaining efficient workflows. Responsibilities:

• Accurately apply cash payments, including vendor checks, into Excel using pre-established macros.
• Process and code lockbox deposits promptly and resolve discrepancies.
• Communicate with customers to address payment issues and ensure proper application.
• Collaborate with credit and accounts receivable teams to resolve misapplied cash transactions.
• Address ad-hoc requests and provide support for cash application-related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Assist with the transition to lockbox services, ensuring a smooth process.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in cash applications and payment processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with macros.
• Solid understanding of accounts receivable processes and aging accounts.
• Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate and resolve issues with customers.
• Experience in collaborating with internal teams to address payment discrepancies.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
