Finishing Machine Operator

Our Client is a locally owned and operated full-service label company providing custom label design and printing for a wide range of industries. In addition to complete label printing capabilities they offer specialty label customization for designs, materials and printing methods.

Summary

The Finishing Operator is focused on setup and operation of commercial label inspector machines to include visual quality control. They will operate equipment to slit continuous lengths of printed material into strips of specified width.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications and selects correct cores and rewind method for job
• Ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are addressed
• Inspect products to ensure quality integrity and package products
• Observe flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding
• Ensure quality of work to include color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items being shipped
• Assist in cutting, collating, wrapping, and packaging of converting jobs
• Remove or replace blades on inspection machines
• Complete paperwork and package finished goods for shipment

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a manufacturing environment, printing or packaging industry experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills
• Standing/ walking/ lifting up to 50lbs

Shift: Call for current shift availability

Pay: Up to $20/hr for well qualified candidates
