We're looking for interns for our summer 2026 internship program! As an Intern for the West Region Environmental Services Group at Stantec, you can expect to carry out a variety of different tasks related to water resource management projects.
Every day will allow you to work on an interesting project, while expanding your knowledge as you gain field and office experience in many disciplines.
- Understanding of water and environmental related principles and engineering concepts, including related hydraulics and hydrologic (H&H) principles and concepts.
- The ability to effectively communicate ideas and opinions.
- Be proficient in interpreting sketches, drawings, and other similar material.
- Be conscientious, detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and disciplined.
- Build and maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships within your technical team.
- Relevant office or field experience is a plus. Examples: Construction Surveying, Field Surveying, Field Sampling, Drafting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Currently pursuing or graduated with a minimum of a four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preference towards students pursuing emphasis areas of Environmental, Agricultural, or Civil Engineering) with a focus on ecological engineering and/or geomorphology preferred.
- Relevant co-op / internships and work experience during school will be considered.
- Experience using HEC-RAS, and AutoCAD a plus.
- Valid driver's license.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Candidate must be willing and have the ability to travel, and on occasion, spend time working away from home office for extended periods of time.
