Material Handler - Overhead Crane Operator

Location: Portland, OR Pay: $20.24 $23.75 per hour Job Type: Full-Time

Most employees start between $20.24-$21.99/hour. The higher end of the range, $23.75/hour, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications.

What You'll Do

1. Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
2. Manipulate or depress crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
3. Use hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.
4. Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism.
5. Inspect crane for defective parts and notify supervisors of defects or malfunctions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Warehouse or material-handling experience preferred
• Able to read, write, and communicate clearly
• Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, percentages)
• Able to follow instructions and solve routine problems
