BIM Modeler 2:
Our client is seeking a BIM Modeler 2 who brings a strong foundation in 3D modeling and a willingness to grow within a collaborative project environment. This role is ideal for an early to mid-career professional or recent graduate who is eager to develop their technical expertise while contributing to high-quality project delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and motivated to build their skills in BIM coordination, modeling standards, and construction documentation.
This role is onsite in Portland, Oregon.
BIM Modeler 2 Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify detailed 3D models and construction drawings using Revit based on markups, specifications, and project requirements.
- Support project teams by organizing models, setting up views, and maintaining accurate electronic documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal teams and field staff to ensure models align with construction needs, including layout and prefabrication requirements.
- Participate in 3D coordination efforts with other trades to identify and resolve design conflicts.
- Assist with model-based layout activities, including verifying dimensions and elevations using digital tools and field equipment.
- Create and manage Revit worksets, families, sheets, schedules, and other model components to support project execution.
- Support document control processes including downloading, organizing, and distributing drawings and project files.
- Contribute to laser scanning efforts and assist in coordinating point cloud data into usable 3D models.
- Prepare drawing sets and documentation for internal use and external distribution.
- Maintain adherence to internal standards, confidentiality requirements, and best practices for model and document management.
BIM Modeler 2 Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3+ years of experience in BIM modeling, or recent graduates with relevant coursework, internships, or project experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Revit (2D and 3D modeling) with working knowledge of Navisworks and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination concepts and a basic understanding of multi-trade environments.
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to estimating tools such as Accubid is a plus.
- Understanding of Revit worksharing, families, and model organization best practices.
- Exposure to design-build project environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to take direction and translate it into accurate deliverables.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.
