Warehouse Specialist

This hybrid position blends distribution and inventory control with administrative compliance support. You will play a vital role in a small team, ensuring smooth operations both in the warehouse and the administrative side.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse operations using a proficient warehouse management system.
• Receive parts into inventory, process pick orders, package, and handle outbound shipping with UPS/FedEx and other vendors.
• Cross-train between high-tech and non-tech customer segments to ensure coverage.
• Prepare import shipments for customers, including customs clearance, labeling, and distribution.
• Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, steamship lines, and bonded facilities.
• Issue freight bills and invoices to brokers and manage collection of unpaid invoices.
• Conduct internal monthly audits and maintain documentation for compliance.
• Provide customer service and communicate effectively via email with clients.

Essential Skills

• 2 to 3 years experience in Shipping & Receiving/Inventory.
• Proficiency in Excel and Warehouse Management Systems.
• Strong writing and documentation skills.
• Valid ODL and familiarity with warehouse settings.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Administrative assistance experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate or relevant working experience.
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and AS/400.
• Knowledge of general and Export Computer application technology is desirable.
• Understanding of international commerce, including sales and payment terms, customs regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Good teamwork skills.

Work Environment

Work in a bonded warehouse located off 132nd and Airport Way, as part of a small team. The environment requires high-visibility attire and steel-toe footwear, and includes forklift operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
