Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Hydro Maintenance Operator I independently performs preventive and unscheduled maintenance, as well as daily monitoring activities at hydroelectric facilities. Responsibilities include plant startup, manual shutdown, and restart operations. This role requires the ability to install new equipment and replacement components and to apply a broad range of maintenance and troubleshooting skills. The position also requires working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. While the role typically receives daily direction from the Supervisor, the operator must be capable of making sound decisions independently. This full-time position is located in Estacada, OR.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine monitoring activities at the Portland Hydroelectric Project (PHP), including plant startup, manual shutdown, and restart operations
• Install new equipment and replacement components and perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities as required
• Apply established regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures in daily operations and maintenance activities
• Receive daily work direction from the Station Leader while independently assessing conditions and making operational decisions as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and completion of a 1-year trade school AND 6+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, electrical, mechanical and/or instrumentation at an operating generating facility.
• Additional experience may be considered in lieu of trade school.
• General knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Must be capable of utilizing Microsoft Office and the related word processing systems.
• Familiar with/or willing to learn the work management system (FaciliWorks).
• Knowledge of fire prevention techniques and First Aid training.
• A valid driver's license is required.
