Property Stewardship Team Member

We are a group of people who work alongside those on the margins to empower individuals and communities through an inclusive range of initiatives and support. We build communities from the inside out through workforce development, housing and homemaking, and supportive sheltering.

The Property Stewardship team is apart of or Workforce Department which focuses on providing opportunities for employment and workforce development for those experiencing barriers to traditional employment. The Property Stewardship team focuses on maintenance and improvement projects both internally and externally. This position may work on paid contracts, facility maintenance, and apartment turnovers on Cultivate Initiatives or external properties.

$24.00 per hour

This position is accountable to the Property Stewardship Program Manager

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.

Complete basic maintenance and construction related tasks as assigned.

Perform specialized tasks including interior/exterior painting, LVP/flooring installation, and minor electrical/plumbing repairs (e.g., fixture replacement, leak mitigation).

Perform 'Turnover Maintenance' on residential units to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for new residents in a timely manner.

Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following OSHA guidelines and ensuring all structural modifications are sound.

Work with the Property Stewardship Lead to source and pickup job specific materials to stay within project budgets.

Accurately record hours and materials used on the daily work orders.

May perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

At least 2 years of experience with maintenance and basic construction work.

Ability to safely operate power tools and specialized construction equipment

Familiarity with identifying and reporting environmental hazards (e.g., mold, lead paint, or sanitation concerns) to ensure resident and staff safety.

High attention to detail and the ability to work as a team or independently.

Ability to communicate professionally with team members and external vendors and clients.

Ability to interact with residents and community members with empathy, maintaining professional boundaries and practicing trauma-informed communication.

Must be comfortable driving a company vehicle (or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement) for material transport

Must have a valid Driver's License.

Basic knowledge in computers and project tracking databases.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.

Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, from quiet offices to louder, industrial settings.

Work requires the ability to perform manual labor requiring the full range of body movement.

Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50+ pounds.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in crawlspaces or on ladders.

Work requires manual dexterity to operate hand/power tools and handle small components for extended periods.

Being physically present in the CI offices from 8:30am 4:30pm, Monday Friday.
