The Dimensional Inspector performs dimensional and visual inspection of finished and in-process product.

What You'll Do:

• Accurately and consistently document all performed tasks on appropriate records (work orders, inspection sheets, maintenance logs, and etc.).
• Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if discrepancies are found.
• Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation. Do not proceed if problems are found.
• Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.
• Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Do not perform operation if ID is questionable.
• Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Follow department Standard Process Instructions.
• Use standard inspection equipment, gages, templates and the Comparator to inspect parts per approved methods.
• Document inspection results on approved inspection sheets.
• Complete Non-Conforming Material Reports for rejected parts.
• Train personnel in inspection criteria.
• Communicate with customer incoming inspection personnel.

What You'll Need:

• Two or more years of inspection of forgings, castings or machined parts.
• Experience using standard measurement tools including Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gage, Optical Comparator is a plus
