Work Environment
Work in a foundry manufacturing environment making metal cast parts from sand molds. Be prepared to work around heavy machinery and equipment in a loud setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including a hard hat, earplugs, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, high visibility vest, and in some departments, a loose fitting respirator.

Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor
Job Description
Grind metal parts to ensure tolerances are accurate using belt grinders and hand grinders. Assist with plant cleanup in the foundry. Use of loose fitting respirator when grinding. May help with mold machine operations and departments in the foundry when needed. Day shift with regular scheduled hours from 4am-2:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Some overtime work required on Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Grind metal parts using belt and hand grinders to maintain accurate tolerances.
- Assist with plant cleanup in the foundry.
- Utilize a loose fitting respirator while grinding.
- Support mold machine operations and other departments as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs throughout the day.
- Comfortable wearing a loose fitting respirator for grinding.
- Ability to work around industrial machinery and use metal disc and belt grinders.
- Comfortable working in a hot industrial environment.
- General labor experience.
- Experience in grinding metal and deburring.
- Production experience in a similar environment.
