Job Title Bon Appetit: Back of House - Pilot House (Kitchen/Dishwasher) Department Bon Appetit Terms and Hours Varying hours, 7:30 AM to 11:30 PM Job Category Student Employment Hourly Wage Portland Metro Minimum Wage ($16.30) Job SummaryThis part-time position will handle Back of House duties atthe Pilot House during the Fall/Spring semesters. (May also be required to execute the duties of this position at other locations on campus as needed.) Position will report to a Bon Appétit Supervisor.Core Duties* Assist in food preparation and service at cafe stations through meal periods* Assist culinary staff in the kitchen with food prep, batch cooking, and special events* Prepare breads, rolls, pastry, and desserts for daily operation* Assist in daily cleaning tasks in the kitchen and on the cafe stations* Assist culinary staff with proper food storage and safety controls* Assist in restocking of dishes on service line as time allows.* Sort, wash, and store dishes for the operation* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restaurant equipment and dishes* Other relevant duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications* Possess the ability to meet Bon Appétit unit specific uniform standards for this position* Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment per Bon Appétit guidelines* Wear a cut-resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument* Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision* Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers* Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments* Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations* Must possess or obtain current Oregon Food Handler CardPreferred Qualifications* Previous kitchen experience preferred, not required.Physical Requirements* Frequently bend, stoop and perform extensive walking* Exert well-paced mobility to move from different areas of facility as service and production demands require* Occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of lifting force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects* Wear a cut-resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrumentPosting Detail InformationPosting Number SE813-2023 Number of Vacancies Multiple Estimated Start Date 08/26/2025 Open Date 08/30/2025 Close Date 11/08/2025
