Advocate for Those Surviving Domestic Violence (age 18+) ReferralHome Free, our domestic violence prevention program provides survivor-centered support designed to prevent people from having to return to abusive homes. Services include a crisis line, housing, intensive case management, restraining-order advocacy, support groups and systems navigation, along with ongoing support. Our volunteers answer the hotline or help survivors with restraining orders. Both positions provide resources and safety planning.Volunteering with Home Free is very rewarding and requires a large commitment. You must attend 50 hours of training, most of which can be done online. Due to the investment in upfront training, we request a 12-month commitment to volunteering once per week for 3–4 hours.Currently, hotline volunteers work remotely. Hours are Monday-through-Friday 9:00-5:00. Though hotline work can be done remotely, you will need to live in the area to use one of our computers and complete your training.Restraining-Order Room Advocate volunteers are located at the Multnomah County Courthouse on weekday mornings or work remotely weekday mornings, 8:30-12:30.QualificationsAwareness of domestic violence, homelessness, and diversity issues is a plus.Bilingual volunteers desired in any language.Commitment of 12 months, 3–4 hours per week.Must be 18 years of age or older.RequirementsAge Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age: 18+.After expressing interest, the Opportunity Leader will contact you to confirm participation and provide directions for this opportunity.Signup QuestionsPlease respond to the following questions in order to sign up for this opportunity.J-18808-Ljbffr
