Working from home, the School Psychologist will support students' learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment and data-based decision-making.Position SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessment and diagnostics, with a focus on identifying students' educational, emotional, social and behavioral needs. The School Psychologist will collaborate and consult with educators, families, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.Primary ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough psychological evaluations using a variety of assessment tools and techniques for students in grades PK-12thAdminister, score, and interpret standardized tests to assess cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioningCompile detailed evaluation reports that include findings, recommendations, and potential interventionsConsult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to gather relevant information, provide insights based on evaluation results, and promote effective implementation of servicesParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss evaluation outcomes and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs)Maintain accurate and confidential records of all evaluations and related documentationUtilize varied models and methods of assessment and data collection for identifying strengths and needs of individual students and the broader school community, developing effective services and programs, and measuring progress and outcomesUse assessment and data collection methods to implement and evaluate services that support cognitive and academic skills, socialization, learning, and mental and behavioral health, including but not limited to behavioral supports, individual and group counseling, and social skills trainingProvide effective professional services that promote effective functioning for individuals, families, and schools with diverse characteristics, cultures, and backgrounds and across multiple contexts, with recognition that an understanding and respect for diversity in development and learning and advocacy for social justice are foundations for all aspects of service deliveryEvaluate and apply research as a foundation for service delivery and, in collaboration with others, use various techniques and technology resources for data collection, measurement, and analysis to support effective practices at the individual, group, and/or systems levelsProvide services consistent with ethical, legal, and professional standards: engage in responsive ethical and professional decision-making; collaborate with other professionals; and apply professional work characteristics needed for effective practice as school psychologists, including respect for human diversity and social justice, communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, responsibility, adaptability, initiative, dependability, and technology skillsStay current with best practices in psychological assessment and school psychologyOther duties as assignedFlexible Work EnvironmentPearson is focused on providing a flexible work environment to its employees, including the ability to work from home on a regular basis in most positions.
