Interim Accounting Consultant / Senior Accountant

• Fully Remote (U.S. Based only, PST HOURS)
• $45–$60/hour DOE
• Temporary Assignment (3+ months with potential extension)

About the Role

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can operate independently, manage complex reconciliations and close responsibilities, and jump in wherever needed to support the team.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute at both a strategic and transactional level within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Approve journal entries and support accounting oversight
• Perform complex account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Manage and support accounting data flow across systems
• Support board reporting and financial reporting preparation
• Assist with operational accounting activities as needed
• Provide support during an upcoming loan servicing platform implementation

Qualifications

Required:

• Strong Senior Accountant-level accounting experience
• Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong systems aptitude and adaptability
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Nonprofit or lending/financial services experience
• Prior experience supporting system implementations or transitions
• MBA or CMA preferred
