OverviewPlacement Type:TemporarySalary:$42-48.27 HourlyW2, hourly, with benefitsStart Date:May 26, 2026We are seeking an Apparel Technical Designer (known internally as Product Development Engineer II) to support the technical design and development of apparel from concept through commercialization for our client, a globally recognized leader in the footwear and apparel industry. You will play a critical part in ensuring product fit, construction, and quality meet performance and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in garment construction, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.Location & ScheduleOn-site with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / Fridays from home)Experience Level2-4+ years of experience in technical design or apparel product developmentBachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)What You'll DoSupport the development of apparel styles from initial concept through productionParticipate in fit sessions, take detailed notes, and help identify and communicate fit and construction issuesInterpret design intent and translate it into technical specifications and executionAssist in creating and updating tech packs, product specs, and construction detailsTrack prototypes and support the product development lifecycle to ensure timelines are metCollaborate with design, product management, materials, and manufacturing partnersMaintain strong organization across multiple styles and deadlinesStay informed on market trends, new technologies, and consumer needs throughout the development processWhat You BringStrong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and apparel development processesExperience supporting fit sessions and working with technical specificationsExperience supporting fit sessions and updating specsAbility to interpret and uphold design intent into technical executionStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environmentNice to HaveExperience with CAD, CLO 3D, Optitex, or similar digital design toolsFamiliarity with pattern grading, markers, and apparel manufacturing processesExperience working on performance or athletic apparelExposure to product creation tools or systems, such as PCXBest Fit with RoleCandidates who are detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow within technical design and product development.
