GFD Program Director, Cybersecurity

Description:

George Fox University's George Fox Digital (GFD) is seeking a half‑time Program Director to oversee the asynchronous online Cybersecurity bachelor's degree, including related certificates and microcertificates. After reviewing the current curriculum, the Program Director will be tasked with teaching, coordinating adjuncts, and supervising ongoing revisions and improvements. GFD is an innovative branch of the university that houses online bachelor's degrees, associate's degrees, certificates, microcertificates, and other stackable credentials. This 11‑month faculty‑administrator position is part‑time teaching and part‑time administrative. It will be reviewed annually to ensure continued alignment with institutional priorities, program quality, and long‑term sustainability.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of existing Cybersecurity curricula and lead necessary curriculum redevelopment to ensure alignment with current industry standards, best practices, and technological advances.
  • Oversee online Cybersecurity bachelor's degree programs and related courses.
  • Motivate, mentor, evaluate, and coach adjunct faculty, as well as recruit and train new faculty members as needed, including maintaining GFD online adjunct training.
  • Manage Canvas faculty course sites for assigned content areas by approving syllabi and course sites and overseeing assessment tools.
  • Attend regular GFD team meetings and work closely with other Program Directors, the Associate Dean, the Program Coordinator, the Registrar, and Admissions and Enrollment staff to support program excellence.
  • Teach an online course load of 6‑9 credits across an 11‑month academic year.
  • Demonstrate Christian leadership and serve as a role model to students through actions, words, and lifestyle, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • Demonstrate experience working cross‑culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
  • A master's degree.
  • Relevant professional experience in Cybersecurity that informs future‑thinking curriculum design, program oversight, and faculty mentoring while ensuring alignment with current industry standards.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a sustained commitment to continuous improvement within the candidate's field of expertise.
  • A strong understanding of best practices in online teaching and learning, and the ability to teach and model these methods for affiliated faculty, particularly during onboarding processes.
  • The ability to manage a large group of remote faculty, including providing timely professional development and ensuring consistent instructional quality for diverse student populations.
  • A conceptual understanding of andragogy, to effectively craft curriculum that serves the needs and interests of adult learners.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a highly collaborative team in the rapid development of online materials and courses.
