Position Summary

The Dishwasher supports the culinary team by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while following all food safetyand sanitation standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and correctly
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and dish areas
• Remove trash and recycling throughout the shift and maintain clean disposal areas
• Assist with stocking dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies
• Support dining staff with meal service setup and breakdown as needed
• Follow infection control, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times
• Ensure chemicals and cleaning products are used and stored properly
• Assist the culinary team during busy meal periods when appropriate
• Maintain organization of storage and dish areas
• Report equipment concerns, hazards, or safety issues to leadership immediately
• Provide friendly and respectful interactions with residents, families, guests, and team members

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
• Dependable attendance and punctuality required
• Food Handler's Card preferred or required per state regulations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditions

Schedule Expectations

• Weekends and holidays may be required
• Flexible scheduling based on community needs and meal service times

This position works within a senior living community serving older adults in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Professionalism, patience, and a resident-focused attitude are expected at all times.
