Temporary Staff Accountant (Nonprofit)

Location: Portland, OR, ONSITE
Compensation: $32/hour DOE
Duration: 1–2 Month Contract Assignment
Start Date: ASAP

CV Resources is partnering with a well-established Portland nonprofit organization to identify a Staff Accountant for an immediate contract opportunity.

This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations while assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, enjoys reconciliation work, and can quickly step into an environment where accuracy and organization are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Reconcile bank accounts, benefits accounts, investment accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Assist with general ledger maintenance and account analysis
• Support ongoing accounting projects and process improvement initiatives
• Partner with leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong account reconciliation experience required
• Experience reconciling multiple balance sheet accounts
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with QuickBooks Online required
