Job Summary

As a Prep Cook, you are an essential part of the kitchen team, responsible for preparing ingredients, supporting cooking operations, and ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently. Your attention to detail, organization, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will directly impact the quality and consistency of our dishes, helping deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including washing, chopping, slicing, portioning, and measuring.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Perform basic cooking techniques such as blanching, boiling, sauteing, and simmering under the direction of the chef or kitchen leadership.
  • Prepare components for menu items, including salads, soups, sauces, dressings, and garnishes.
  • Assist in plating and presentation of appetizers, entrees, and desserts as needed.
  • Label, date, and properly store food items to maintain freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Collect, transport, and properly wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment returned from the front-of-house, ensuring a steady supply of clean items for kitchen operations.
  • Support kitchen operations by ensuring ingredients and supplies are readily available for service.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar food service role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
  • Understanding of food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and portion controls with accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Good time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members.
  • Culinary training or certification is a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy items (up to ~50 lbs).
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks in a high-energy environment.
Work Schedule
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
