Job Description SummaryThe Machinist will set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment to drill, turn, mill, grind, thread, and bore parts and assemblies to precise tolerances. This role supports machining of GE 7F components and contributes to a safe, high‑quality, and inclusive work environment at GE Gas Power.Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesOperate manual and CNC machines to perform precision machining operationsFollow all safety procedures and participate in required safety trainingPerform assigned work on GE 7F components according to established processesRead and interpret blueprints, I&T plans, and technical instructionsUse precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and qualityCommunicate clearly with supervisors, leads, and team membersSupport skill development and cross‑training effortsPerform additional duties/tasks as required by supervisor or leadspersonPerform tasks for other departments as agreed upon between supervisor and other department supervisor based on shop load and scheduleQualifications / RequirementsAbility to work 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM)High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of formal machinist training3–5 years of experience operating machining equipment (boring bars, vertical/horizontal boring mills, etc.)Minimum 2 years of blueprint reading experienceMinimum 3 years using precision measuring instrumentsAbility to run and input G & M codeLegally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipAbility to meet physical requirements and follow PPE/safety rulesWillingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as neededDesired QualificationsJourneyman machinist cardExperience with one or more of the following machines: Schenck HM70, TOS Varnsdorf WHT130, Gurutzpe GHD30.90.10, TOSHULIN Powerturn 1600, Okuma MCR‑AF, custom Tip Grinding Machine, Schenck V7Experience with operating at least two of the smaller CNC machines without direct supervision: Small HBM, Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL), Farrel LatheStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to train on and operate multiple machine toolsPay TransparencyThe base hourly pay range for this position is $32.50 - $44.50/hr.
